Farcha Veterinary Research Laboratory (now IRED, Livestock Development Research Institute) is on a field mission to study the epidemiology of Rift Valley fever (RVF) (Maurice & Baille, 1967), a zoonotic arbovirus infection (a viral disease transmitted by arthropod vectors) that affects both humans and domestic and wild ruminants.
