SCF uses sound science to understand conservation needs and to
inform solutions, including the development of policies and
practices designed to protect and sustainably manage Saharan
ecosystems. Systematic surveys undertaken by SCF have vastly
increased knowledge about the status and threats to Sahelo-
Saharan wildlife and have provided a platform for educating and
training the next generation of wildlife biologists and managers.

Sahelo-Saharan Interest Group

The Sahelo-Saharan Interest Group (SSIG) was established in 2000 to bring together people and institutions working on the conservation of Sahelo-Saharan wildlife. SCF is committed to maintaining the unique role that SSIG plays as a forum for people to meet, network, share information and build strong partnerships for Sahelo-Saharan conservation.
